Are you feeling a little… flat? Is the most thrilling part of your day finding the remote? Well, dust off those hiking boots, because the Uganda Hiking Club is officially launching the most ridiculously epic journey of the century! We’re inviting YOU, our amazing friends from every corner of the globe, to join forces with us, the local legends of the Ugandan trails, for a truly unforgettable hike up the majestic Muhabura Mountain from November 21st to 23rd, 2025!

Why Should You Ditch Your Daily Grind for a Mountain?
This isn’t just any hike; it’s a global friendship summit on a mountain! Here’s why you can’t miss it:
- For our International Friends: Forget those boring, overly-sanitized tours. We’re offering you the real deal! You’ll get to hike with the people who know these trails like the back of their hand (or at least, we’re pretty sure we do!). We’ll share our favorite trail jokes, teach you a few hilarious local phrases, and probably share our secret stash of trail snacks. You’ll get a genuine, belly-laugh-filled cultural exchange, all while conquering one of Africa’s most stunning peaks.
- For our Ugandan Hikers: You’ve been asking for an international mash-up, and here it is! This is your chance to show the world the true meaning of Ugandan hospitality and our love for adventure. Prepare to be the star guides, the cultural ambassadors, and the keepers of the best trail stories. Plus, you might even learn a thing or two from our international guests about… well, we’re not sure yet, but we’re open to surprises!

The Nitty-Gritty Details:
Muhabura is no walk in the park (unless the park has a 4,127-meter-high volcano in it, in which case, call us!). It’s a challenging, rewarding climb. You’ll be climbing up through lush bamboo forests, navigating some slightly-less-than-flat terrain, and breathing in the freshest air you’ve ever smelled (it’s free, we checked!). The final ascent to the summit is a bit of a scramble, but trust us, the view at the top is worth every grunt and groan. We’ll be there to cheer you on, probably while looking equally exhausted.

A Very Serious and Professional Promise:
The Uganda Hiking Club is not just a bunch of people who like walking uphill. We are a tightly-knit group of experienced and enthusiastic hikers, and we are ready to host you. We’ll handle the tricky stuff—the guides, the permits, and making sure no one gets lost (we’ve only lost a few, and they always come back… eventually). We’ll guide you, support you, and make sure this is the best hiking experience you’ve ever had. We’re so confident, we’ll even give you a free high-five at the top!

The Official “Don’t-Get-Lost” 3-Day Itinerary (because we have a schedule to keep!)
Alright, you asked for it! Here’s the play-by-play for our epic, three-day adventure. Get your cameras ready, your dancing shoes packed, and your hiking spirit on high alert!
Day 1: Friday, November 21st, 2025 – The Great Southern Trek!
- 7:00 AM: The Grand Escape. Meet us bright and early (bring coffee!) at Uganda House in Kampala. We’ll be in our official “Uganda Hiking Club” safari vehicles, which are much cooler than a regular car. We’ll set off as the sun’s first rays hit Ugandan soil, leaving the city chaos behind for the promise of open roads and adventure!
- Morning Munchies & Meet-Ups: We’ll make a pit stop in Mbarara to grab more amazing hikers and some roadside roasted chicken (a non-negotiable part of any Ugandan road trip!). Then it’s off to Kabale, where we’ll pick up even more fantastic people!
- Afternoon Delight: We’ll take a quick detour to the stunning Kisizi Waterfalls. Prepare to have your mind blown and your phone memory filled with epic photos. It’s the perfect pre-hike warm-up!
- Evening Shenanigans: We arrive in Kabale Town, the ‘Switzerland of Africa’ (though we can’t promise any yodeling). After checking in, we’ll dive headfirst into the legendary Kabale nightlife. Get ready to show off your best dance moves at one of the region’s top clubs. Energy is key!

Day 2: Saturday, November 22nd, 2025 – The Muhabura Mountain Showdown!
- Early Morning (Seriously, it’s early!): We’ll have a quick breakfast, pack our bags, and set off from Kabale for Kisoro Town. The goal is simple: get to the base of the mountain before the sun gets too bossy.
- The Big Climb: This is it, folks! The main event! We’ll start our ascent of Muhabura Mountain. We’ll be there to guide you, cheer you on, and distract you from the challenging parts with really bad jokes. We’ll reach the summit, take a gazillion photos, and high-five like champions.
- 3:00 PM: The Glorious Descent. We’ll complete the hike and make our way to Kisoro Town. You’ll be tired, you’ll be triumphant, and you’ll probably be a little smelly, but you’ll be awesome!
- The Kisoro Party! After a well-deserved shower and a hearty dinner, it’s time to celebrate our victory! We’re hitting the best club in Kisoro for another night of music and fun. Because what’s a mountain climb without a victory dance?

Day 3: Sunday, November 23rd, 2025 – The Chill-Out & Cruise!
- Morning Magic: After our epic two-day journey, we deserve some serenity. We’ll head to the breathtaking Lake Mutanda for a refreshing boat cruise. Think serene waters, beautiful islands, and maybe a few “I can’t believe we just climbed a volcano!” moments.
- The Homeward Bound: We’ll eventually (and sadly) get back on the road and begin our journey back to Kampala. We’ll be tired, we’ll be happy, and we’ll have a million new memories and stories to tell. Get ready for a playlist of classic throwback songs and a few trail-side naps!

Have you Met Mr. Robert the Mixologist Before?
As you climb the steep slopes, you’ll meet the legend himself: Robert the Mixologist, a man whose hiking pack contains more than just water and trail mix. Armed with shakers, exotic syrups, and a seemingly endless supply of good cheer, Robert is the unofficial “liquid morale” officer of the group. As we trudge up a particularly grueling section, you’ll turn to a gasp for breath only to see him meticulously shaking a cocktail for a fellow hiker, his face a mask of intense concentration. “This is a ‘Mountain Mojito’!” he’ll declare, handing over a cup with a flourish. “The high altitude adds a certain… zest!” His rib-cracking jokes and hilarious, impromptu drink creations will keep everyone in stitches, proving that the only thing better than reaching the summit is doing it with a perfectly balanced beverage and a belly full of laughs. https://kitararcc.com/2025/06/21/adventures-of-mr-robert-the-mixologist-in-the-crater-lakes-of-bunyaruguru/

Disclaimer: This itinerary is subject to change based on weather, the mood of the mountain, or if a really good song comes on the radio and we have to pull over and dance. We can’t wait to see you there!
